Bridgman is a city in Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,428 at the 2000 census. The Bridgman post office, with ZIP code 49106 opened with the name "Laketon" on November 11, 1862. The name changed to Bridgman on April 9, 1874.[3] The town is famous for being the location of a clandestine communist planning meeting in 1922 that was broken up by federal agents and local authorities.[4]
